So today we started our Year of 30 Girls trip. This trip includes 6 friends (college friends and lifelong friends), 3 countries and host of memories. So to start off our trip, we ran into several issues.

Before we started our flight, SouthWest was celebrating their 47th birthday and let’s just say, there are getting LIT!!! They had a DJ, food and all. That was the good part of the trip. Once we got on the plane, we were notified that there was sighting of lightning and we have wait. Well after about 30 minutes, Amber and I decided we would use the restroom while we wait. Let’s just say, WRONG IDEA. To start, we had a very rude flight attendant.  As we were walking down the aisle to the restroom, the flight attendant says: Attention passengers, the pilot cannot move the plane until everyone is seated. Because they never made an announcement that we were cleared for take off, we kept walking. Amber gets to the back and asked the (rude) flight attendant if it was ok to use the bathroom. Nasty attitude and all, he says: NO THAT’S THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT I JUST MADE! Now come on, that is not what he said but we both took our seats.

After that situation, we decided once again to use the restrooms, and they did make another announcement to sit down but we had to do what we had to do. Nasty looks and all from the flight attendant, our bladders were happy.

Once we finally landed, we decided to use Lyft instead of Uber because for some reason, Lyft has been surprisingly cheaper than Uber lately. Well Amber gets our first Lyft. Once we walk towards the the location, this PERSON cancels on us!!! So of course the next best thing was to request another Lyft. As we are nearing the location for the next Lyft, this driver cancels!!! As we are very upset, we notice the first Lyft driver picking up another driver!! He canceled on us for another passenger!! Very frustrated, we decided that I should try my hand at getting another Lyft. Maybe, I’ll have better luck! Well lucky me, as we wait for the 3rd Lyft driver, I receive a phone call. This is the Lyft driver, he tells me he cannot find me and he is tired of waiting on me (even though I was in the designated area). He then tells me he is going to cancel my ride.

Now we have had 3 Lyft drivers cancel on us. We are extremely upset now. So I decide to ask security for help because after three cancels, maybe the problem is us! The security guy then tells me that we are in the right position and that they might be canceling on us for higher priced rides. So he tells me to request another ride and he is going to talk to the driver himself. Well after his magic, we landed a ride. What a ride that was. The driver was so cool! He was the best Lyft driver ever!!!

After getting settled into our hotel, and settling on a restaurant for the night,  our sweet dear friend Thomia thinks its time to put on a show for us. As we, everyone except Thomia, are looking both ways before crossing, Thomia jets out across a five lane, BUSY intersection! I’m like OMG!! (face palm) We are all screaming!! This chic got a full blown family! WHAT IS SHE DOING?? After she safely gets into the car, we all scold her for her actions!

If you follow me or Thomia on instagram, you will see some stories from our dinner shenanigans. One of the shenanigans was when the waiter refused to split the bill. Like legit acted as if it took a whole village to split a bill. So we had to figure out how to split the bill. Because we have all had a long day by now, lets just say addition, division and simple 1,2,3 was a task for all of us. It was a sight to see. We all have college degrees, are great assets to society, but couldn’t do simple math! My parents, who are educators, should be ashamed of me. After about 10 minutes of figuring out how to split the bill, taxes and additional items added, we were on our way back to our hotel.

But hold up, just when we thought it was over, we have to cross the street once again. So y’all know what happens right?! Thomia is at it again! She runs across the street! We are all yelling now to stop her because we see a car. The car, thankfully, stops to let all of us cross. DIS TEW MUCCHHHH!! I cannot with this girl! She has a full blown family!! We cannot be calling her husband to tell him that she got hit with a car.

This is just the beginning, I expect so much more from the trip! There will be many stories to tell, and NOT to tell. There will be many “we have to share this” posts, and many, “let’s keep this to ourselves” posts.
