So it has been forever since I have blogged and so many things have changed. One of the biggest changes is that I got engaged.
Now a lot of people have been asking for the juice, so I am now about to spill the tea girl! I’m only telling this once so grab your popcorn and listen up.
Giiiirrrrlllllll let me tell you!!!!!
So what had happened was that my fiancé (omg, I can call him that now!!!) and I early in the year we decided on Dubai for our Christmas trip. BTW, if you have not gone, you need to go. It is an experience worth having. I can tell you about that later. But anyway, so the months pass by and December comes and we head to the airport. After about 18hrs of travel we made it to Dubai.

To spare all the details of the trip, which I will blog about later, we have been in Dubai for a few days and today is now Christmas Eve. Today we decide to find some desert activities we would like to do. So so we arrange some activities like camel riding, desert dining, quad biking and dune buggying. Later, I get a call telling me they had to rearrange my desert dining and camel riding. I would have to do the desert dining on Christmas and desert dining on the day after Christmas. So I am like ok, cool. So right before I get off the phone, the lady asks me a few more specifics about our desert dining and then she is like, “will you be celebrating anything at this dinner?” I laugh and was like ” girl we celebrating Christmas!”. She chuckles and we hang up. So I yell to Mr. Fiancé, “Yo, this lady gonna ask me am I celebrating anything at this dinner, hahaha I told her Christmas!”. He looks at me and laughs mildly.Christmas Day
BREAKFAST: I’m in Dubai…FO CRISMUHH YYYAAAALLLLLL!!! AYYYYYEEEEE. Because Dubai is nine hours ahead of Georgia, I am celebrating ahead of my friends and family. So I do the normal thing that you do when you are on vacation, I go to the gym to workout! After the workout we eat breakfast. During breakfast we have a very deep conversation on marriage and kids and how I’m his best choice for having dark skin, tall kids!! LOL There are no red flags waving my way. To me, it’s just one of our many discussions about our future.
LUNCH: As we are eating lunch at Chilis, yes girl, Chilis!! That’s one thing about traveling during the holidays, you won’t have that good home cooked meal. But anywho, we are just talking and he is really asking me a lot of questions. But y’all know me, we talk all the time so it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary. We are talking about our favorite Christmas holidays and why they were so special. Those who know me know that my favorite Christmases was when I was younger and we would go to Nashville and celebrate with my 15,000 cousins and other family members. Even though we knew that all the presents weren’t all ours, the mountain of gifts were mesmerizing and the family bond was everything. So during the conversation he tells me that this is going to be a great christmas for me also and I am going to leave Dubai different from when I came. You know me, I’m like DUH I’m in Dubai! How many other people do I know who can say this?! This is already a great Christmas!
CAMEL RIDE INTO THE SUNSET:Well let’s skip through the rest of the day to the camel ride. On Christmas eve, we decided to swap gifts at the end of the ride when we watch the sunset. The ride was amazing! Our tour guide was very nice. He stopped many times to take pictures for us. At the end of the ride we are taken to a high point of a sand dune and we began talking while watching the sun set. It is now time for our gift swap. He gives me a medium-sized, silver box that had Kay Jewelers on it. But I didn’t think anything of it. I just figured he had gotten me a necklace because the box was too big for a ring.

*SIDENOTE: I’m really not this oblivious, I really just didn’t think that it would happen in Dubai. When your friends are consistently telling you that you’re gonna come back from a trip engaged, you kinda lower your expectations so you don’t get your feelings hurt. So this is why I downplayed the box.
Now back to the story. He tells me to not open mine yet, but for him to open his first. At first I’m like ain’t that selfish! lol But I did want to go through my gift with him. My gift was a picture book that I made on Shutterfly. Months before our trip, we decided to not get each other anything because the trip was our gift. But you know how that goes!
As we are going through the book, we are reminiscing on all of our memories together. BTW, I did a good job!!!! Our conversation continued and when it came to my time to open the box, I wasn’t really thinking anything on the line of marriage. (*Refer to my sidenote)
THE PROPOSAL:I open the box, and it’s another box!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m like who does this??? The box within the box still was kinda big for a ring box. So I open the next box and it is a ring!!! OMG! I’m like nawwww shawty. This aint real. So I look up and he’s staring at me. I guess he was trying to figure out what I was thinking. Well I didn’t make him wait long for my thoughts. I’m like is this real?? Then it all came flooding to my brain. All the conversations throughout the day. The bouquet of roses upon arrival. Different things that has occurred within the year that led up to this.
What is this?! So now I’m like this better not be a promise ring. Is this a promise ring? Cuz I don’t do promise rings! He laughs and I keep asking questions. I guess he is done with my questions and he pops the question. In only the way I could understand. He is like OMG! Constance! Will you marry me? I was like OMG, oh this is like for real for real!! He’s like yes it is!! So I ask another question and he is like OMG Constance! So I was like YES!!! (Bruh, I had to make sure. It’s too many girls out here getting promise rings. I AIN’T THE ONE!!)
It was perfect. Sunset in the desert!! Like come on, who does this???? Did this really happen to me??? It did! I now have a story for the books!!! Everything was perfect!

So lets rewind for a second. Remember when the lady asked me if I was celebrating anything at the dinner? Jokes on me, I actually did have something to celebrate the next day at our desert dining. He knew the whole time. The next night we went to dinner and it was awesome!!!!
OMG, I almost forgot this very important detail. He actually made sure my nails were done for this moment. Mad cool points for this very important detail!
This is the beginning of my travels from Miss to Mrs.
