So I am just sitting and thinking. Ever since I got engaged, I have encountered some interesting responses. Take a walk with me through some one the many responses to my news.

1. I’m so proud of you! (But why? What did I do? He asked me! He bought the ring!!)

2. WOW!!! ( In a surprised “I didn’t think you would make it” tone. Or the “aww that’s cute tone)

3. Oh so you engaged? Well that’s not married, so what’s up?

4. Well the clock is ticking, you are not going to have time to have kids. Why dont you move your wedding up so that you can increase time for more kids.

5. When did this happen? I didn’t even know that you were dating anyone. Why are you so secretive with your relationship?

6. OMG, don’t do it! Just go to the courthouse.

• Hmmmmm…. you did it? If I get that advice one more time!!! If this is something that we should not do, why is everyone doing it????
• Do you not know who I am? I’m extra just for the sake of being extra. 

7. OMG!!! I cant wait for your wedding, I’ll be sure to look cute for it! ( No shade, but ummmmmm were you invited?!)

8. OMG so tell me all your plans (I just got engaged 2.5 seconds ago!! GIVE ME SOME TIME!!!)

I feel like this is my “rubbing the belly” moment. You know that moment where women describe that people just rub their belly when they are pregnant without asking. It’s like an invasion of privacy.

These are just some of my thoughts and things that have actually been said to me. I know you are probably thinking that they aren’t that bad, but it has been an interesting ride for me.
