You Just Might Need a College Degree for This!!!

So it’s been a minute since I have blogged. Things have finally calmed down in my life concerning work and school. Because of the hecked holidays I decided to take a trip to Memphis to visit my friend. Little did I know that she had a few projects sitting there waiting for me to do! I came to take a break, not work!

Well you know I couldn’t pass up a chance to work on a project. I just love them!!!  Before we get into the details of the projects, let me tell you what I learned.

(1) I will never buy anything that isn’t already put together!! lol Sorry IKEA!! Eventually I ended up doing what I thought was best because there were either too many parts or not enough parts!

(2) Yes, I became that person! There really were “too many parts”! I really did try to use the directions but I felt like I was making more mistakes with them than without them. Now when I think about it, the project was a simple common sense one.

(3) You just might need a college degree to put these things together!! Between the both of us there are 3.75 college degrees (I’ll be done in May with my MBA hence the .75). Some of them directions had me and Nikka like WHAT??????

Here are a few pictures of our journey! Along with some dance music, we were set for this adventure!

Project one (the hardest):

Look how pretty it is!!

So I will never buy a shelf like this unless I have someone who want to put it together for me! It was one of those things that you do once and you are good. She had to buy the baskets and she finished decorating it.

Project two:

This was a tv stand. It was purchased at Target and its directions were a lot easier. It didn’t take as long but I wont be doing it again either!!! If it has to be put together, I will try to buy the floor model. If they wont sell the floor model, it wasn’t meant for me! Plain and simple!

Just a bunch of pieces!

Somebody’s frustrated!!!

Not again!!!

Look at all those “extra” screws!!!!

Boom! There it is!

We DID that!!!!

It was actually alot smaller than we thought it would be. But it was cute. I had never installed drawers before. I think I did a good job! This has been checked off my bucket list, never again will I do this. If you are my friend and you need ANYTHING, I got you! Unless its putting together shelves or a tv stand, you are all by yourself on that one!
