Ok well I embarked on a new adventure last night. My friend talked me into…wait for it…dumpster diving!!!! I know, I know, you are probably thinking that I am crazy!!! I’m not crazy but I do like to try things. I felt like one of the people on Extreme Cheapskates! Yes, I got inside the dumpsters. I did carefully choose the places I went so that I didn’t have to be in nasty bins. One bin smelled soooooo good! LOL By the way, just in case you are thinking, it is NOT illegal. So many people have asked me that. Google it.

Well I went to a few stores, found some pretty decent stuff. Some things I found:

• Brand new King size sheets. (still wrapped in plastic packaging) It was thrown out due to a small rip.
• Brand new full length mirror. (yes it was cracked. I will be shattering the rest and creating a piece with it. I’ll have a post soon)
• Brand new lamp
• Brand new mug

Now everything I got, it was never opened. There were tags on it explaining the defects.

Now hold onto your seats for this next dumpster dive excursion. We went to a grocery store. Of course we waited around until it had just recently closed (like within 10-15 min). They threw out loaves of bread, bags of salad, bell peppers, and cabbage. Now there was more things out there but we were only interested in what was recently thrown out and was still wrapped. I forgot to take pictures of all the food!!! I will definitely do that next time!

I know you are now like, this chic is CRAZY!!! I would never do that!!! But hey there is a community of people who dumpster dive!! They have it down to a science. They know exactly what time to go, what day the trash runs, what stores throw out the best stuff and so much more. I heard about people finding crazy things! This one lady dumpster dived at a game store and got an Xbox, brand new (probably refurbished, i think. But who cares???!!!). That’s a win all in itself!!!! Dumpster diving is not for poor people just in case you are wondering that also.

Now, will I do this again? Probably, depending on the group of people I go with. The people I went with last time were super amazing!!! I had a blast with them! They made the experience worth it. Tell me what you think. Has anyone else done this before or am I just some weird person?
