I Kinda Like My Car…

So I kinda love my car. Its not the newest or the greatest but its mine and no one can come repo it! Its a green ’04 BMW 325i. I think I may have a thing for green cars because my last truck was forest green!! lol Well because my car is a sporty car, there were a few things on my list to get done to it. Here’s my list…

1. Tint windows…DUH (I hate riding in cars with no tint!!! Who does that???)

2. Install Aux cord (How do you expect me to listen to music???)

3. Either buy black wheels or Plasti Dip them

3. Angel Eyes (Halos)

4. Paint my calipers red

5. Other minor things that all cars need

I have completed 1, 2, and 4. I don’t have the desire to attempt tinting windows. I have seen the results of people tinting their own windows and uhhh, it sorta, kinda, looked bad! So I happily left that up to the experts.

I actually installed the Aux cord by myself. For one,  I’m SUPER frugal!!! I don’t buy anything that isn’t on sale! That’s another story all in itself! I had to do some research because this called for basically tearing your car apart! So I ordered my part from Ebay for about $40 (#WINNING) and installed it in about an hour. That saved me about $250 (dealership price).

Now to the wheels story. So I love sport cars with black wheels! I really wanted some but was nervous about spending so much money and then not liking it later on. Due to the sad fact that I am not ballin’ (inserts crying face), that didn’t sit too well with me! So I mentioned what I wanted to my brother one day and he told me of a friend who used Plasti Dip on his car. I was like wow!!!! So I definitely researched that idea and headed to the store to buy me some.  (Did you know people Plasti Dip their whole cars???)

I LOVE  my wheels!!! I get compliments on them all the time.  I was at work one time and I happened to be looking out the window and this guy was staring at them. He like got all up near my wheels and walked around my car a few times and smiled. I thought it was funny, but glad he seemed to like them.  I have had them now for about four months. I have a tiny scratch from when I was painting my calipers red, but you cant tell unless you are staring very hard at my tires.

Painting my calipers was a little tough for me because red is a bright color and I had to be very careful to not spray anything but the calipers. Then on top of that, for some reason my tires felt super heavy!!! I had a hard time putting them back on. But the end product was all worth it. People are amazed when I tell them that I did it myself.

Final product!

I am actually doing a little more research on the angel eyes. I heard I need a balancer for it so that I doesn’t blow my original lights. Other minor things I am working on is changing my secondary air injection pump. I doubt you want to know how to do that. But if you do let me know, I usually take pics of me doing things so that I can have proof just in case someone tries to challenge me. Bragging rights!!!!

If you have any other DIY suggestions for my car let me know. I love playing around with it.
